Head and neck cancers consist of cancers in the throat, larynx, lips, mouth, nose, and sinuses.
Most of these cancers begin in the tissues that line the nose, mouth, and throat. If discovered early, these cancers are highly curable.
There are several symptoms that can act as warning signs that should be brought up to your doctor if they continue.
- A consistent sore throat
- Difficulty swallowing
- A lump in the head or neck that gets bigger or does not heal
- Voice loss or changes in sound
Other cancers can form in the head or neck but are not considered Head and Neck cancers due to the difference in behavior.
